What's New in Version 2.83
This page details changes and enhancements which have been made to the Infocare system for the current version of the software.

Infocare version 2.83 contains an exciting new look
facelift for the system in addition to some minor changes and enhancements.
It is important
that you read and understand how these changes will affect your service.
The user interface to the system has had an exciting new look facelift to make the system easier to use. The old "Icons" for each section have been replaced by colour coded puzzle pieces, and within sub menus the colour coding has been continued with standard selection buttons. Nothing has changed in the way or sequence that you access various parts of the system. It is just that they have a different look.
We hope that you enjoy the new look and that you find it easier to navigate your way around the system. Some examples are displayed below.

2. Children - Add/Modify
Some additional validation is now undertaken on Official Names -
Ministry of Education ELI system will only allow characters a-z A-Z - " ~ diacritics
Infocare will ensure that only these characters have been entered into any of the official name fields. If the official names have not been used, then this validation is applied to the preferred name fields.
In some cultures, the first name is not used. In this case you should enter a single ~ into the official first name field.
3. Children - Category
The list of available selections for categories has been rationalised and re-ordered.
4. Children - Contacts - Add/Modify
When the "Email letters & Parent Portal" check box is ticked, a Parent Portal password is automatically created for this contact and the user will be prompted to see if you wish to send a ParentPortal welcome letter to this contact.
5. Children - Timetable - Modify - Optional Charges
The Optional Charges screen has been enhanced to allow users to modify, insert or delete individual charges rather than selecting them all from drop down lists. This functionality will allow users to specify the order that Optional Charges will appear.
When transferring staff from one centre to another, If you would like to retain a correct record of the date a staff member actually started working for your organisation, you can now leave the "Starting Date" field on the transfer screen blank.
8. Centre - Users - Add/Modify
Two new access levels have been added. These are "ECE Return" and "RS7 Return". If you want users to be able to complete and submit ECE Returns (Old RS61) and RS7's then set these to "YES". If you wish to restrict access set these to "NO".
The default setting for these levels is "YES". For corporate clients, we are able to default these to "NO" if required.
9. Centre - MOE Advance
Large Groups or Kindergarten Associations are able to be sent a spreadsheet by the Ministry of Education which provides details of advanced funding for all centres within the group. There is a new facility under MOE Advance to "Upload File". To use this feature, you will need to first open the excel file from the Ministry and save it as a .csv (Comma separated Values) file. You can then Upload the saved file into infocare to load the advanced funding figures for all of your centres.
10. Utilities - SMS Text Utility
In order to assist users in calculating how many characters (and text messages) have been used when typing a message, there is a new "Counter" below the text message input box.
It is now easier to choose a saved template. Previously templates were named by number only. They are now named as the first few words of the template.
A "Clear Fields" button has been added which, when clicked, will clear the text in the message input box and de-select the children or staff.
11. Utilities - SMS Text Utility - Replies/Sent
The management of being able to view and search for sent messages and replies has been significantly improved.
Users are now able to search for send messages or replies within a specified time frame or by specific content (search String) contained in the message.
12. Children - Add/Modify
To conform to new Ministry of Education ELI requirements, some additional validation is performed with regard to enrolment dates for children. The system will not allow a child's start or end date to be modified if that child has attendance records outside of those dates. Users will need to remove the child's attendance data (exclude) from sign in sheets for the dates that occur outside of the start and end dates.
An Online payment option is available which will allow parents to pay their account online by bank transfer or by credit/debit card. Parents simply need to click on a link at the bottom of their invoice or statement from your centre.
